Emma O'Gorman Emma O'Gorman

Emma O'Gorman rode very successfully for several years as a professional jockey riding nearly 150 winners and being leading girl rider twice.

Working for her father in Newmarket since a young age has enabled her to gain invaluable experience in breaking yearlings and handling 2-year-olds. After all, during his training career, Bill O'Gorman was probably the best 2-y-o trainer around, and now that he's semi-retired his help and advice is always there when needed.

Having viewed yearlings for nearly 20 years with father Bill and his brother Richard, both very well respected and successful purchasers of 2-y-os, Emma now buys yearlings to breeze. 2005 will be the first year that Seven Springs consigns yearlings for the December Sale in Newmarket. Emma's aim is to pinhook yearlings that go on to do well as racehorses as well as make profit! Emma is also hoping to select yearlings for clients to race.

Emma has also been involved in the sale of horses to race in America, including multiple Grade 1 winner 'Janet'. Association with Hong Kong is also underway. Anyone who may have horses of interest can contact Emma.

Emma is studying to become a recommended associate of Monty Roberts' methods through Intelligent Horsemanship UK run by Kelly Marks, daughter of ex-trainer Doug Marks. These methods have been used with all of the breeze-ups and have been invaluable in producing extra confidence in the horses. Combining her father's & Monty's breaking techniques has made the whole process very easy. Emma is determined to produce easy to manage horses with the constitution to do well at any level!

The last five years there have been 33 horses bought, 29 run, 14 winners and 11 placed. That's 86% win/place with each horse costing 20,000gns or less, including Group 1 winner and classic placed Paita.
